Our client has been established over 60 years and has grown to now boast a £500+ million turnover with offices throughout the UK. They operate across building services and have specialist groups including the rail division which has worked on network rail and London underground projects Including tickets halls, platform lengthening and station upgrades.

The company are currently looking for a senior or principal electrical engineer from within building services that has previously worked on rail related projects and used Amtech, hevacomp and dialux or relux calculation software for the design of electrical building services such as lighting, power distribution and generators.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

- Supporting the design manager in leading and development of design team members, acting as mentor to assist in the process of developing designers by \'on-the-job\' coaching, to successfully achieve all agreed goals and objectives relating to the area of building services design.

- Managing design work throughout Design and Build Projects in collaboration with the project teams, undertaking design reviews and appraisals, providing technical advice/assistance to queries raised by the project teams, and assist with the re-engineering of pre-designed contracts.

- Providing monthly design progress reports in each projects reporting on technical risks and opportunities, programme, resources and design costs.

- Carrying out technical duties / design on Design & Build Projects in collaboration with other designers and the project teams, participating in Design Reviews and appraisals as necessary, and Conduct design validation visits to installation sites to ensure that installation satisfies design intent.

- Providing design/technical assessment support of all tenders, paying particular attention to the technical risk assessment of both traditional and Design & Build projects, delivering high quality design solutions that address our contractual obligations.

- Undertake schematic and detailed design of installations/schemes within the remit of the jobholder\'s specialist skill area.
- Be conversant with the various building services design software packages used throughout the Company, and when necessary, use them to good effect to carry out design related activities.

- Ensure that the company\'s Health, Safety & Environmental policies and procedures are constantly adhered to, and be familiar with all current legislation regarding Building Regulations, legislative requirements, BS standards, CDM, Health, Safety & Environmental issues relating to design and technical activities.
