Job Description

I am actively recruiting for an ambitious and hungry Associate Electrical Engineer for a forward thinking multi-disciplinary consultancy. There is potential for this role to evolve into a partnership making this a very important appointment.

The practice was founded in the 70's in the form of a partnership now operating out of 3 offices, each office on a standalone basis to provide Mechanical, Electrical and Sustainability to suit their client's requirements. The practice operates in a diverse range of buildings including Commercial Offices, Shopping Centres, Retail, Leisure, Private Schools, Hotels, Mixed Use Developments and Residential Schemes. The quality of the schemes they have worked on is reflected by the 6 Gold Awards received from the BCO/BCSC during the last decade.

As an Associate Electrical Engineer you will be responsible for building relationships with clients, developing business opportunities, leading projects and managing a team of Engineers. You will have the personality and charisma to hold your own with high end clients, develop and produce reports, specifications and guide and oversee testing and commissioning activities. It is vital that you are somebody who has a strong work ethic and motivated to develop not just yourself, but your team and company, taking great satisfaction in achieving targets and becoming a successful and integral part of the company.

With previous consultancy experience, you will be Chartered and have a degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent Qualification. You should have excellent technical knowledge in your primary discipline and a thorough understanding of Building Services Engineering and interdisciplinary design through all stages of the design process.

This role will suit a self-motivated and confident individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a proven track record of exercising commercial judgement together with practical knowledge to deliver positive outcomes. You will be collaborative both externally in design teams and internally with peers, and you will be ambitious and energetic, capable of getting the best out of your team. Although you will lead from the top, you will also benefit from a very supportive network of talented and friendly colleagues.

This is a great opportunity to progress within a company that has been recognised in the industry for delivering on first class projects, offering a clear and defined career pathway for those who have been fortunate enough to work for them. Over 85% of their work is on a repeat business basis. The structure of the practice ensures both small and large projects can be effectively handled by specialist independent Design Teams, with a Director allocated to each account. If you are successful in this position you will be rewarded not only by taking satisfaction in achieving great results, but also financially plus various incentives and benefits.
