Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Structural CAD Technician. They will join the Structural and Civil Engineering team to provide engineering support on single and multi-disciplinary projects, including new build and refurbishment projects for the public and private sectors. The work will be predominantly structural related but will, from time-to-time, involve civil/drainage/road works and therefore experience in these areas would be an advantageous. Typical projects range in value from GBP £0.5-30m and are extremely varied in type, scope and complexity.

They will be responsible, under the leadership of the Senior Project/Project Engineer, for the project management of complex projects for clients in the Industrial, Educational, Leisure, Healthcare, Energy, Residential and Public sectors. This will include client liaison, limited design, interface with project teams and contract implementation.

The candidate will predominantly provide CAD assistance for both new build and refurbishment Structural projects but will also be involved in civil/drainage elements. They will have experience in GA detailing of Reinforced Concrete, Piling Layouts, Foundation design, Structural Steelwork and other traditional types of construction materials and below ground drainage. The successful candidate may be a required to visit site from time to-time and provide support to our other offices.

The candidate for this position will preferably have limited design experience in detailing roads & drainage schemes, and a good level of computer literacy in Windows, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office software is required. Experience of using Revit is essential.

The ability to operate as part of a project team within appropriate authority levels and to represent the company with confidence to a variety of clients and outside organisations is expected. The candidate will have the ability to work on their own initiative as well as part of one of our dynamic teams.

  • Liaison and representation with other project professional
  • Management of own workload and those of others assigned to the project tea
  • Maintaining records and archives, document and project management system
