Expanding consultancy seeks intermediate mechanical engineer to join them in the midst of exciting times, with a strong order book and growth opportunities working across several sectors.
The Company was founded overseas in the early 80's. They are known for delivering big projects in leisure, education, commercial, retail and residential sectors often with values well over £200million. This is a fast pace environment, but not without plenty of support from a very strong and friendly team. The role requires dealing with projects in the UK and Europe from concept/feasibility stage, through design and construction to commissioning and handover under the guidance of a director. Skills that will be developed include, but are not limited to the following:
- HVAC design calculation in accordance with CIBSE guidelines in conjunction with Building Physicist.
- Liaison with building physicist for thermal modelling input criteria and results
- Design and specification of renewable technologies
- Part L Compliance checking in conjunction with building physicist
- Detail development of concept designs to include equipment selection and specification etc
- Liaison with architects, clients, structural engineers and contractors
- Project Management
Qualifications and experience
- British or European citizen
- Degree in mechanical (building services) engineering
- Minimum 3 years' experience working as mechanical (building services) design engineer in the UK
- Good design skills
- Working knowledge of building regulations, especially Parts G,F and L
- Working knowledge of British Standards
- CSCS qualified
- Schools or other naturally ventilated buildings (preferential but not essential)
- Leisure centres (preferential but not essential)
- NES specification writing (preferential but not essential)
- Familiarity with BREEAM, and implications for M&E design (preferential but not essential)
- Revit MEP (preferential but not essential)
