Job Description

I am seeking a Junior/Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to work for a multidisciplinary engineering and environmental consultancy based in the South West of England, close to Bristol. My client values its people and views them as being critical to the successful development and growth of the business. A British firm that has been established for 50 years and now turns over in excess of £28million, it is one of the largest privately owned engineering, environmental and building control consultancies in the UK, and employing nearly 400 staff across multiple offices in England, Wales, Ireland, and as far as South America.

As a Junior/Intermediate Mechanical engineer you will have at least 2 years Building Services detailed design experience with a degree in either Building Services or Mechanical Engineering. At intermediate level you should be technically capable of managing a portfolio of projects, including works at both planning and detailed design stages. You should also be able to communicate clearly and effectively with the internal management of the company from Graduate to Director Level.

My client has helped produce some very well rounded engineers due to their versatility across multiple sectors (hotels, MOD, residential, aviation, retail, commercial, heritage and much more).They employ expert design engineers within individual sectors. With projects running regionally and further afield to (South Coast, West Midlands, London and Wales), they are incredibly busy. This is a smaller team within a large company so quick progression is a given for someone with the right aptitude.

After my recent meeting with one of the lead people for the MEP / Building Services division it is clear to see that they have a very forward thinking plan for taking the company to the next level and they are therefore looking to recruit new skills into the business.
