I am seeking a Junior/Intermediate level Mechanical Engineer to work for a multi discipline Mechanical and Electrical Design consultancy. They were formed in the mid 90's and have progressively grown into a very well respected consultancy known for, but not limited to their Cat A and B fit out expertise.
With 4 main offices operating out of different corners of the UK, they provide mechanical, electrical, public health and sustainable design solutions to many large organisations covering several sectors. Their business success comes from combining skilled engineering expertise with a strong commercial focus.
The sectors that my client specialises in include Banking and Finance, Commercial, Education, Health, Residential and Retail. More specifically my client is responsible for many Cat A and B fit outs for buildings including The Shard, many medical surgeries throughout the UK, a large Australian retail store currently opening more than 50 stores per year, date centres, a well-known builders merchants, and several of the biggest financial institutions in the UK.
The working environment is one in which you will be exposed to engineers at all levels, including directors. The team is made up of 12 engineers, most of whom are of senior level up benefitting a less experienced engineer. The majority of those working for my client have been with the business for longer than ten years and have progressed up from junior positions. This is a great indication that my client promotes organically and also progresses those with the ambition to work their way to the top. You will be reporting directly to one of two Directors and learn from their many years of experience in the industry.
As a Junior/Intermediate Mechanical engineer you will have at least 2 years Building Services detailed design experience with a degree in either Building Services or Mechanical Engineering. This role would also be suitable for engineers who have on site experience on the tools as an installation engineer or similar, but who also have a degree and are looking to become a design engineer in an office environment. Cat A and B fit out experience would be an advantage as would experience using IES software. You must have a get up and go attitude and be ready to assist a senior engineer, eventually managing your own long term projects.
This is a genuine opportunity to work in a relaxed, but professional environment for a company that offers excellent progression potential. The directors would like committed individuals with the technical ability or potential to climb the career ladder and become client facing. You will also have the luxury of working with the latest design software as my client insist on staying ahead of the game in an ever changing and evolving industry. My client has a project order book for the next 2 years, which in the current climate is very impressive. They can offer the right individual job security in a friendly environment and in an excellent location. Upon visiting my clients offices I was immediately impressed with the state of the art building and access to transport links out of London and into Central London. The office is located approximately 5 minutes from Croydon East train station, and a stone's throw away from the new "Box Park" in a very vibrant and developing area. An excellent package plus benefits is offered to the person with the right attitude and experience.
