Job Description

We have an opportunity for a Chartered Mechanical or Electrical Associate who has a network of existing clients in the Waste Resource Management Sector and possibly also Energy Sector looking for technically challenging work on cutting-edge projects; to join an established engineering team in London.

The client is an independent firm of designers, planners, engineers, consultants and technical specialists offering a broad range of professional services including Building Services Engineer - Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health design.

They are a global company with a reputation for bringing visions to reality and delivering small and large projects to a very high quality.

This role will involve business development underpinned by the candidate's existing network of contacts to complement the business development already underway in the Energy and Waste Resource Management Business. In addition, the role will involve the leading of the design of building services through all stages of a project from feasibility through to site completion. Projects will primarily be focused in the Energy and Waste Resource Management sector, but may also include industrial, science, healthcare, and mission critical sectors and include Waste to Energy facilities, energy centres, manufacturing facilities, laboratories, hospitals and data centres.

Key responsibilities:

Leading the business development for Energy and Waste Buildings (building services engineering focus) using your network of existing client contacts;

Business leader for Energy and Waste Buildings (building services engineering focus) in technical development;

Nurture existing and develop new client relationships in the sector, managing key client relationships to establish and meet their needs;

Keeping the wider team up to date with developments in the energy and waste resource management sector;

Developing engineering solutions from concept through to implementation stage;
Being innovative in changing the design of buildings through a deep knowledge of Mechanical and/or Electrical Building Services Engineering;

Working closely with clients, external design team and stakeholders to deliver solutions which exceed client expectations;

Maintaining an overview of Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering design quality;

Leadership and management of the detailed mechanical and/or electrical design and drawing, reports and specification production;

Maintaining the highest possible technical standards consistent with the project brief;

Supervising and coordinating the work of others and coordinating work with engineers of other disciplines;

Project leader on multi-professional projects with high Mechanical and Electrical Engineering content;

Managing project team to ensure production of deliverables to agreed timelines and within budget;

Providing technical guidance, people management and mentoring to the wider team;

Producing high quality reports and presentations; and

Become an integral part of the leadership team for your Building London Group; contributing to strategic decision making and representing the interests of both the Group and company more widely

About You

We are looking for an enthusiastic Associate with excellent design, technical, and software skills who enjoys working collaboratively in multi-professional design teams, taking responsibility for projects from inception to completion to achieve outstanding results.

You will be able to demonstrate solid experience in the field Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering Systems for building services.

Degree qualified in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering, and have achieved Chartered status through either IMechE, IET or CIBSE;

Have several years of experience in either the Energy and/or Waste Resource Management sector and have developed relationships with a network of clients based on mutual respect and trust;

Able to quickly develop successful client relationships;

In depth knowledge of engineering procedures and standards;

Strategic thinker with proven experience of developing and implementing creative and successful engineering solutions;

Excellent project leadership and management skills including the ability to handle multiple projects;
