Job Description

A very high profile public sector client that are responsible for maintaining, managing and providing engineering for Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health works across a large portfolio of historic buildings are seeking a well-rounded experienced Mechanical Engineer.

Projects are usually multi-million-pound refit and refurbishment projects where you will be expected to oversee and approve the design of various providers including consultancies and contractors, ensuring they they are providing a consistently high level of acceptable work that is of value for money and will be taken forward to the projects.

As a mechanical engineer, you will sit within the design team which makes up part of an overall; engineering estates team.

With a background in Mechanical Design Engineering and preferably exposure to maintenance and building regimes you will be responsible for supporting the Lead Mechanical Engineer in the design authority, installation and replacement of building services across the estate.

You will therefore need to act as a specialist advisor, on a wide range of infrastructures, managing the full lifecycle of the site engineering systems. This will involve following the process and instructing on designs and standards from both internal and external teams.

There will also be a number of feasibility studies and improvement projects happening simultaneously that you will need to undertake.

This is a very interesting long term position for someone who has a real interest for engineering and an inquisitive mind. There is wide range of projects happening and therefore the day to day work is diverse and challenging with no two days being the same.
