An exciting opportunity to take ownership and lead projects within an award winning MEP consultancy as a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer has arisen. This medium, but global outfit have been well established since the mid 90's and have carved a fantastic reputation not only here in the UK but in the Middle/Far East too.
With the highest calibre of engineer, the latest design tools, effective support systems that allow them to compete with the very best in the industry, they are able to consistently work on the best projects of all sizes.
This is a unique opportunity as you will be working on projects that the larger more corporate companies typically attract. The company is a medium size outfit with 6 offices. The surrey office has more than 20 engineers many of whom have been with the company for 10 years and have moved from much larger global consultancies. Having met with the Director it is clear to see what attracts engineers to this company. They work across multiple sectors, they have many live projects currently running and all at different stages, and there is a clear career development path that is set out on day one of employment. My client only promotes internally from senior level up. One of the Technical Directors has progressed in less than 10 years from a graduate within the company giving a fantastic indication that they have all the tools needed to get to the top. They are also very forward thinking with all the latest design software, technical indexes and British Standards available. The office environment is very relaxed and very friendly, but also very professional.
As a Senior Mechanical engineer you will be responsible for building relationships with clients, developing business opportunities, leading projects and managing a team of Mechanical and Electrical Engineers. You will be client facing, technically well-rounded and able to lead a team, offering the benefit of your experience to encourage and mentor other engineers. It is vital that you are somebody who has a strong work ethic and motivated to develop not just yourself but the team and company, taking great satisfaction in achieving targets and becoming a successful and integral part of the office based just outside of London (18 mins by train) in Surrey.
With previous consultancy experience, you will ideally be a chartered Engineer, have a degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Qualification. You should have excellent technical knowledge in your primary discipline and a thorough understanding of Building Services Engineering and interdisciplinary design through all stages of the design process. Experience with the relevant Mechanical/HVAC design software and tools. My client is able to offer excellent packages for the right person.
