Recognised as one of the leading building design consultancies in the UK and with an impressive reputation having delivered some of the UK's most iconic projects over the past 50 years, my client is actively recruiting for an ambitious and hungry Senior Public Health Engineer who is looking to establish themselves in a forward thinking company with the view to taking a Partner position in the future.
My client is launching an Internal Professional Development scheme to promote Public Health engineers beyond principal and associate levels into management and PM roles. The overall goal is to offer the opportunity for PH engineers to become partners in the business as there is a clear shortage of PH engineers at this level in the industry. This scheme is being headed up by two Partners in the business who have grown the number of Public Health employees from 10 to around 50 in the last 10 years.
As a Public Health Engineer you will be responsible for building relationships with clients, developing business opportunities, leading projects and managing a team of less experienced engineers as well as meeting with clients, developing and producing reports, specifications and guidance or overseeing testing and commissioning activities.
You will be client facing, technically well rounded and able to lead a team, offering the benefit of your experience to encourage and mentor other engineers. It is vital that you are somebody who has a strong work ethic and motivated to develop not just yourself but the team and company, taking great satisfaction in achieving targets and becoming a successful and integral part of the London office.
With previous consultancy experience, you will ideally be a chartered Engineer, degree qualified or equivalent Qualification. You should have excellent technical knowledge in your primary discipline and a thorough understanding of Building Services Engineering and interdisciplinary design through all stages of the design process.
This role will suit a self-motivated and confident individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a proven track record of exercising commercial judgement together with practical knowledge to deliver positive outcomes, you will be collaborative both externally in design teams and internally with peers, and you will be ambitious and energetic, capable of getting the best out of your team.
If you are successful in this position you will be rewarded not only by taking satisfaction in achieving great results, but also financially with the potential to become a Partner and owning shares in the company and at that level be looking forward to early retirement. There really is no glass ceiling, something that is all too apparent for many PH engineers.
