As part of an increase in workload my client is looking for a Senior Sustainability Engineer with a holistic knowledge of sustainability, including energy and sustainability statements and assessments, government policy, both current and up and coming, and a good base knowledge for incorporation of Low or Zero Carbon energy sources, and renewable technologies.
The practice has grown steadily since the 80's, has over 60 staff and is run by 4 partners, each being very hands on. They have a diverse portfolio of projects ranging from individual private houses, large scale urban regeneration, hotels, commercial offices, education facilities and retail/leisure projects, with construction values ranging from £300,000 to £200 million.
As a Senior Sustainability Engineer you should be able to communicate clearly and effectively with the internal management up to Director Level. You should be qualified with a relevant Building Services Degree and with 4/5 years' experience in Building Services. You must come across as professional, confident and knowledgeable. You must be very good with client liaison, carrying out meetings and professional presentations to clients, architects, planning authorities and Greater London Authority. Working knowledge of sustainability assessments (SAP, SBEM, BREEAM) would be an advantage. Knowledge of Code for sustainable homes, IES and Thermal Modelling also a bonus.
