Our client is a growing MEP and Sustainability consultancy and heat network operator delivering integrated solutions across the built environment.

Their multidisciplinary offering combines sustainability, MEP design and heat network operations to help clients create low-carbon, high-performing and future-ready buildings and energy infrastructure.

Their work encompasses decarbonisation, heat networks, sustainability strategies, integrated energy systems, renewable energy, whole life carbon and energy centre design, alongside the full MEP remit across both new-build developments and existing buildings.

Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and motivated Mechanical Associate to join an established and growing consultancy at an exciting stage of its development.

The role combines project leadership, technical excellence and team development, while providing the opportunity to help shape the future direction of the mechanical engineering team.

You will lead the delivery of challenging and rewarding projects across the built environment, overseeing the development and coordination of mechanical, electrical and public health designs while working closely with clients, internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver exceptional outcomes.

You will work closely with an experienced senior leadership team who will provide autonomy, trust and support for your continued development, alongside a genuine opportunity to influence the future direction of the team and wider business.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of complex and challenging projects across multiple sectors
  • Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary MEP design teams through all project stages
  • Provide technical leadership and maintain high standards of engineering quality
  • Build strong client relationships and support the development of repeat business opportunities
  • Oversee commercial performance and project delivery
  • Mentor and support the development of engineers within the team
  • Contribute to the strategic growth and continuous improvement of the business
  • Support and contribute to bids, proposals and business development activities
  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership in shaping the future growth of the team and wider business

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
  • Significant experience within a building services design consultancy, ideally within a leadership or senior project delivery position
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering projects from concept through to completion
  • Strong stakeholder management and client-facing experience
  • Excellent leadership, communication and team collaboration skills
  • Strong technical understanding of UK building services design standards and regulations
  • A passion for high-quality engineering, sustainability and continuous improvement
  • Chartered status or working towards Chartership would be advantageous
