    An opportunity has arisen for a intermediate/Senior level Public Health Engineer to join one of the building services industries leading companies based in Berkshire.

    The role,

    Design, manage and supervise the assigned project working alongside the project lead. Carry out detailed design in accordance with industry guides. Prepare specifications, reports, and design drawings, budget costs to programme. Supervise project works on site, workmanship, and testing.

    Responsibilities

    • Design, manage and supervise the project, establish client brief, technical requirements, scope of works, cost plans and agree deliverables, i.e. report, specifications, and drawings scope for all projects with your Group Leader
    • Assist project Lead with monitoring engineering/CAD resource requirement for each project within your control
    • Carry out engineering concept design to detailed design, tender and contract on site supervision, to completion, ensuring projects are undertaken in accordance with design briefs and that completion deadlines are achieved
    • Liaise with the design team to produce co-ordinated designs that are technically compliant, to a consistent quality and standard. Provide positive contribution to design/project meetings. Maintain regular 'in house' design reviews and checks
    • Maintain excellent client and design team relationships to achieve high levels of satisfaction and repeat business
    • Implement Company Health and Safety. Ensure all designs respond to the CDM regulations

    Preferred skills and requirements

    • Excellent presentation and communication skills
    • Experience, especially in designing and managing projects, ideally 3-5 years' industry experience
    • Educational qualifications to a degree level or equivalent are desired
    • Personable and a 'can do' attitude with resource management experience
    • Working knowledge Revit software is essential
    • Able to establish rapport and good working relationships within the project team and Clients
    • To be able to work as part as a team and collaboratively and co-operatively

The role would include the need to travel to the London office and maintain a regular presence on-site, attending design team meetings and workshops. Typically the consultancy will be involved from RIBA stage 1 onwards, on traditional design contracts and design & build contracts. The role will report to a Project Manager and will have involvement in several concurrent projects across the company's portfolio at different stages.

    • Design of lighting, small power, fire alarm, lightning protection, sub mains distribution and ancillary electrical services.

    I have a requirement to join an independent MEP design consultancy based in Kent. They are looking to employ a fire systems design engineer to join their very capable team and assist with high profile schemes in the UK, and overseas. The ideal candidate will have a good command of written English to write technical specification documents and letters, be personable, able to engage with clients, have a presentable appearance and good speaking voice. Requirements:

    • The candidate must be able to provide full sprinkler design and hydraulic calculations on various projects ranging from large industrial units to office fit-outs
    • Be familiar with all British Standards, European Standards, NFPA Codes and FM data sheets
    • Capable of project management / engineering on fire systems projects
    • Fire alarm experience (on the design side) would be beneficial
    • Computer literate and be used to an office environment (use of AutoCAD / Revit beneficial)
    • Prepared to travel, within the UK and European travel
