• Electrical Resident Engineer

    I'm currently working on a long-term contract opportunity for a Resident Engineer (Electrical bias), working on a large project based in central London.

    My client seeks an experienced engineer who can think beyond their own discipline, as the project has a number of buildings within the portfolio. The candidate should have a natural tendency to contribute to collaborative problem solving working with both clients and contractors.

    The key duties of this role will consist of verification of installations, method statements for inspection and testing procedures for utilities, electrical, mechanical, public health and fire services, onsite inspections, testing and witnessing of all MEP Services installations, identifying any potential coordination issues and proposing solutions, leading progress meetings with client and delivery contractors, producing reports detailing technical compliance, programme and quality of installation.

    This role will will be on a fulltime basis with an immediate start.

    The ideal candidate will come from a design background and be confident and competent in liaising with clients and architects through various stages of projects and design.

    Responsibilities will include.

    • Liaise with external design consultants, internal construction management team and subcontractors.
    • Produce design programme and ensure all adhere to programme.
    • Review and critique design by consultants at different stages.
    • Develop/introduce more effective processes to assist the design process.
    • Assist at tender stage where technical input is required.
    • Attend all design meetings on behalf of Company.

  • Mission Critical MEP Project Manager

    Client-side opportunity for a MEP Project Manager to work for a global data centre provider.

    Our client work on data centres across the globe and they have successfully forged an enviable reputation within the mission critical sector. Due to an impressive portfolio of work, and order book of projects they are looking to add a Project Manager from a building services background with previous data centre experience.

    The successful candidate for managing all aspects of construction projects. Include providing leadership to consultants, vendors and contractors. Projects will be regional; however, projects out of region may be assigned. The Project Manager will oversee challenging deliverables against aggressive project expectations and will report to the Director of Construction. The candidate will have overall responsibility for delivering the assigned project(s) safely, on budget, on time, while ensuring that the project scope and quality meet the companies design standards and the objectives set for the project.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • The Project Manager will be responsible for managing the day to day activities of the various contractors and vendors in the delivery of Data Centre projects ranging from 10 -60MW across Europe.
    • Manage multiple projects simultaneously as required
    • Responsible for creating and managing project schedules.
    • Serve as a key liaison with managers of all company departments including executive management, operations, sales and finance.
    • Liaise with clients where applicable and manage both their needs and expectations.
    • Responsible for creating and managing project budgets.
    • Responsible for Monthly Project reporting to the Director of Construction to assure that budget, schedule and scope objectives are being achieved by the project teams.
    • Assist with preparation of requests for proposals to Contractors and Consultants, including detailed evaluations and recommendations.
    • Brief and instruct the Project Team of their roles and responsibilities.
    • Develop and maintain the Project Execution Plan for the project(s)
    • Monitor the Project Team in their general performance of their services.
    • Monitor the distribution of information between the Project Team and between the Project Team and third parties.
    • Ensure all project scope and risk is managed through supply chain appointments
    • Assist in negotiating contracts with vendors as necessary. Review and become fully conversant with all legal contracts on the Project(s)
    • Responsible for handover of Project(s) to the operations team, including the resolution of all defects
