They are seeking a Senior Electrical Design engineer to join their expanding team to help deliver some of the outstanding buildings and projects that they work on including schemes across the education, high rise residential, large-scale commercial, stadia, and healthcare sectors. While a solid technical understanding of Electrical Building Services is required, they are looking for an individual with the ability to think laterally and apply learning and experience to new challenges.  It's also vitally important every member of the team shares their values which embodies their approach to project delivery. Role: The purpose of this role is to provide the Electrical Design and Technical expertise in supporting project delivery.  Working closely with the Project team, Project Leader and wider Design Team whilst contributing to consistency in delivery and technical knowledge. Representing the company (both internally and externally) by maintaining the highest standards of technical excellence, professionalism, and enthusiasm. Project Delivery

  • Ensuring consistent production of well-considered technical solutions.
  • Working collaboratively through clear communication with all members of the internal and external Project Team to ensure the successful delivery for all.
  • Inputting to and following the QA process to maintain the quality of all project deliverables in terms of both presentation and technical accuracy.
  • Working alongside the Project Leader/Senior Engineers to establish timescales and resource requirements.

  Project Leadership

  • Leading by example in terms of attitude and commitment.
  • Providing support and leadership to Junior/Trainee Engineers.
  • Leading the development of the design aspects within your control to achieve the desired outcomes in the most efficient manner.
  • Consistent application of the latest learning and development initiatives and opportunities as identified through the development process.

  Technical Standards

  • Carrying out design calculations and providing technical input to ensure solutions are correctly implemented.
  • Creating drawings, reports and specifications that clearly demonstrate the requirements of the system/project to communicate information appropriately.
  • Striving to develop knowledge and understand of all aspects of building services design to provide a greater depth of expertise.
  • Utilising digital delivery resource in ensuring consistency in quality of delivered material whilst meeting project deadlines.
  • Recording and imparting knowledge and lessons learnt to the wider team for the benefit of all.
  • Utilise technical excellence and latest industry thinking within project delivery.
  • Ensuring the project QA process is adhered to and utilised by default.

• Senior Mechanical Engineer

  Our client is a multidisciplinary consultancy that provides mechanical and electrical engineering services to a wide range of clients within the healthcare sector. It is an award winning company that is large enough to provide stability and opportunity, but small enough to recognise its people as individuals. They are currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with building services experience to join its team based in Croydon. The role will involve:

  • Acting as project leader on selected projects
  • Working as part of a larger team on certain projects.
  • Attending principal meetings and making client presentations on selected projects.
  • Raising/promoting the level of technical excellence relating to mechanical engineering within the team.
  • Over time, developing the ability to become a point of contact for key clients.
  • Helping generate repeat business through customer care of existing clients.
  • Working on a variety of interesting projects across varied sectors.
  • Client facing work.
  • Working closely with others in a team environment.
  • Producing drawings and specifications.
  • Producing calculations or guiding others to complete them.

   In order to be considered for this role you will have:

  • A degree qualification - mechanical or building services (Chartered or working towards). An HNC or HND with suitable design experience will also be considered.
  • Significant experience of design in building services, post qualification completion.
  • Client interaction skills.
  • Software design ideally including Microsoft Office, Hevacomp, IES, TAS or Cymap.
  • Knowledge of British standards, building regulations documents, etc.
  • Knowledge of HTMs would also be of benefit.
  • Professional membership (CIBSE, IET, IMechE).

• Sustainability Engineer (SAP Assessor)

  Our client is a multi-disciplinary practice of Building services Engineering Consultants. Established for over 30 years, they now employ more than 60 staff at their offices in London. Sustainability is at the heart of their projects, and because of growth, the in-house sustainability team urgently requires a Sustainability consultant.

   

  The successful candidate will have OCDEA accreditation (EPC for residential new build units) and will have completed numerous SAP/EPC assessments and produced Planning Energy Strategies.

  You should also have some experience and be looking to develop in other areas of sustainability engineering including IES thermal modelling, SBEM/daylight/sunlight/thermal bridging calculations, BREEAM assessments, and report writing for planning submissions.
