A key remit of the job will be to ensure that all IES modelling outputs are accurate and to the highest standards. The successful applicant will also be able to balance the legislative requirements with the innovative thinking required to meet and beat the net zero carbon challenge in existing buildings. The role will also require experience and knowledge of ApacheHVAC, an understanding of how buildings really operate and experience in delivering BREEAM credits. They are a delivery partner for NABERS UK and the successful applicant will take a key role in shaping their service offer in relation to this new rating system and how it interacts with EPC requirements. The firm is independently owned by the Directors and employees, all based together in one office, supporting each other without corporate interference or distractions irrelevant to project delivery. They can provide technical support when needed but otherwise trust employees to independently manage their workload. As a Senior Public Health Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the plumbing design solutions on complex projects from initial concept through to final delivery, represent the business in front of clients and architects, and provide mentorship and guidance to more junior team members. ROLE OVERVIEW: The Intermediate Mechanical Engineer will demonstrate sound skills in engineering design and be comfortable working on projects from inception to completion, able to undertake various aspects with minimal supervision. They will assist the senior staff to prepare conceptual designs of HVAC systems, pipe work systems, plant sizing and selection and calculations. The engineer will be a strong team player, keen to develop their skills, and to this end they will work closely with the senior engineers to assist with administration and coordination of projects and will undertake tasks to increase their exposure to business development and improve their understanding of financial and contractual aspects of projects in addition to constantly developing their technical knowledge.
