  Our client is Building Services consultancy providing single source solutions to the construction industry, property owners and property managers.  They provide solutions on all aspects of Building Services Commissioning and Client Verification and have been at the forefront of Commissioning Management for over 35 years.  As a result of growth they are looking for a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer to join the team. Responsibilities will include the following:

  • Review all commissioning related documentation
  • Review the testing and commissioning process and plan
  • Identify risks to the project and any potential opportunities
  • Review and report against installation progress
  • Review trade contractors method statements
  • Attend regular commissioning meetings
  • Attend off-site and factory witness tests
  • Witness system pre-commissioning and setting to work activities
  • Witness commissioning activities
  • Witness of all integrated system testing
  • Witness of all performance / environmental testing
  • Witness testing of life safety systems in conjunction with relevant Statutory Authorities
  • Provide detailed reports to the client at agreed frequency
  • Issue a final summary report to the project team confirming that the services have been correctly installed and commissioned to specification
  • Identify any outstanding works, snags or potential latent risks
  • System commissionability reviews
  • Development of the commissioning plan

  When applying for this role as Mechnical Commissioning Engineer you will have skills and/or experience in the following items in order to be successful:

  • Degree or HND in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven UK experience in commissioning management.
  • Strong understanding of Mechanical systems and integration within building environments.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of British standards and building regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Development of the commissioning programme, including identification of the critical path and construction milestone drivers
  • Production and installation monitoring to specification and standards
  • Production of monitoring documents to track factory acceptance tests, method statement production, testing, commissioning and final acceptance and sign-off

• Building Services Manager

  Essex - Loughton

  £50,000 per annum + benefits

  Permanent

  Co-ordination and management of M&E installations from design through to project completion. Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with Design / pre-construction to review & input commissioning practice’s
  • Review M&E trade packages in line with design information and Employer Requirements prior to enquiry – including liaising with Technical Co-ordinator
  • Assist the Construction Team in monitoring and reviewing Building Services Installation on Contracts (including site visits) against specification and design requirements
  • Assist in reviewing subcontractor submissions prior to appointment
  • Assist Contract Surveyors in monitoring and progressing for valuing internal and external valuations
  • Evaluate M&E progress & commissioning against programmes
  • Carry out M&E Commissioning meetings & produce meeting notes with M&E contractors / consultants & clients.
  • Review Commissioning method statements
  • Liaise with external agencies such as Building Control, Fire Brigade and other statutory authorities
  • Set up procedures for snagging and commissioning installations prior to practical completion
  • Co-ordinate information for the production of Operation & Maintenance Manuals
  • Develop Checklist and Risk Registers as appropriate and monitoring thereafter including Commissioning Plan.
  • Assist in updating internal Q&A Procedures to improve performance
  • Carry out witnessing & or managing 3^rd party witnessing.
  • Assist final project handover; client familiarisation on M&E systems.

  Experience:

  • Good communication skills
  • Recognised building services qualifications & or experience.
  • M & E Commissioning experience
  • Intermediate level in Excel and Word
  • Ability to train others
  • Stay abreast of M & E innovation
  • Understanding of HIU / HLT & CP1 2020.
  • Knowledge of renewable energy technologies
