I am currently recruiting on behalf of multi-disciplinary client who are looking for support in their mechanical team. They are looking to bring on board an experienced and appropriately qualified Mechanical Design Engineer (HVAC) on a part time basis (3 days a week).
The Role:
The Mechanical Engineer will play a key part in the Building Services Design team and will be involved in working closely with clients, other design team members in the design, management, and delivery of projects. The current projects are heavily involved with the rail sector (stations, platforms, bridges etc….) and you must have Network rail experience.
This will be an ongoing contract and you will focus on successful project delivery whilst managing several concurrent projects. The contractor will be required to carry out detailed design, statutory compliance audits, calculations, attend design, programme, and site meetings.
You will possess the ability to clearly communicate Mechanical design concepts to clients, contractors and other design team members, producing detailed calculations, proactively ensuring coordination of mechanical systems with other disciplines and building structure, HVAC design, and performance design associated with specialist services.

The key duties of this role will consist of verification of installations, method statements for inspection and testing procedures for utilities, electrical, mechanical, public health and fire services, onsite inspections, testing and witnessing of all MEP Services installations, identifying any potential coordination issues and proposing solutions, leading progress meetings with client and delivery contractors, producing reports detailing technical compliance, programme and quality of installation.
