    They are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer (on a contract basis) to join their busy team in Cambridgeshire for a minimum of three months.


    The role will involve:

    • Acting as project leader on selected projects
    • Working as part of a larger team on certain projects.
    • Attending principal meetings and making client presentations on selected projects.
    • Raising/promoting the level of technical excellence relating to mechanical engineering within the team.
    • Working on a variety of interesting projects across varied sectors.

    In order to be considered for this role you will have:

    • Software design ideally including Microsoft Office, Amtech, Dialux & Revit
    • Knowledge of British standards, building regulations documents, etc.

    The Role;

    The Senior Electrical Engineer will play a key part in the Building Services Design team and will be involved in working closely with clients, other design team members in the design, management and delivery of projects.

    In addition, the ideal candidate will demonstrate a proven track record in working within the design of high end commercial and retail projects.

    Responsibilities;

    You will focus on successful project delivery whilst managing a number of concurrent projects. The job holder will be required to attend design, programme and site meetings, and mentor junior engineers and apprentices.

They require an experienced Design Manager to manage and co-ordinate the design team and contractor designers to produce complete and comprehensive construction details in due time, giving consideration to quality, build ability, cost, health, safety and environmental constraints.

    MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Understand and support Client's aims and objectives.
    • Discharge responsibilities for Health and Safety.
    • Empathies with overall design concept.
    • Manage design process.
    • Compare and benchmark design against other external projects.
    • Assist with setting-up and implementing project systems and procedures.
    • Assist other team members in dealing with queries and providing information on design.

    EXPERIENCE & QAULIFICATIONS

    • Mechanical/Electrical Design Experience with a consultant working on commercial projects is essential.
    • Quality experience working for a contracting organisation is desirable.

    • Membership of CIBSE or IEE is desirable.

My client is a well-established international building services Consultancy who have an exciting portfolio which includes commercial, hotels as well as some of the most innovative residential and mix development projects in the UK.

    Responsibilities

    • Design, manage and supervise projects, establish client brief, technical requirements, scope of works, cost plans and agree deliverables, i.e. report, specifications, and drawings scope for all projects with your Group Leader
    • Carry out engineering concept design to detailed design, tender and contract on site supervision, to completion, ensuring projects are undertaken in accordance with design briefs and that completion deadlines are achieved
    • Liaise with the design team to produce co-ordinated designs that are technically compliant, to a consistent quality and standard.
    • Provide positive contribution to design/project meetings. Maintain regular 'in house' design reviews and checks

    Expertise in the following is essential

    • Above and below ground drainage design
    • Domestic hot & cold-water system design
    • Domestic sanitary drainage system design
    • Gravity rainwater system design
    • Natural gas system design
    • Irrigation system design
    • Rainwater harvesting design
    • Excellent presentation and communication skills
    • Experience, especially in designing and managing projects, ideally 5 years' industry experience
