They are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join the team. As a Senior/Principal Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the Mechanical design solutions for a range of building services projects, from initial concept through to final delivery.   • Attend site visits and meetings with clients, architects, and contractors.
  • Work collaboratively with other engineers and design team members to ensure project deadlines and deliverables are met.
  • Mentor junior engineers to ensure their development and provide technical guidance.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current and emerging electrical design technologies and practices.

   Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 6 years' UK experience in mechanical design engineering within the building services industry.
  • Ideally Chartered Engineer status.
  • Knowledge and experience of British Standards and relevant codes of practice.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit (desirable)
  • Experience in using mechanical design software such as Heavacomp, IES or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a team.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

The firm is independently owned by the Directors and employees, all based together in one office, supporting each other without corporate interference or distractions irrelevant to project delivery.  They can provide technical support when needed but otherwise trust employees to independently manage their workload. Approximately two thirds of their turnover is derived from overseas projects, having undertaken projects in Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Cyprus, Russia, Vietnam, Germany, UAE, Angola and the Bahamas.  Their key sectors are commercial offices, mixed use developments, luxury hotels, concert halls, theatres and airports. As a Senior Public Health Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the plumbing design solutions on complex projects from initial concept through to final delivery, represent the business in front of clients and architects, and provide mentorship and guidance to more junior team members.   • Developing and reviewing design calculations, plans, specifications, and reports
  • Preparing cost estimates and participating in project budgeting

  Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in MEP design and project management
  • Mechanical, Electrical & Public Health disciplines
  • Knowledge of building codes and standards
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other MEP design software
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
