  Role: This is an exciting opportunity for a Building Services Mechanical Design Engineer with a leading International multi-disciplinary design consultancy in Central London.  They are one of the UKs Top Employers for 5 years in a row according to Top Employer Institute.  Their multi-disciplined team includes MEP (30 strong), Environmental Design & Sustainability, VT, and Architectural Design Lighting.  They are involved in high profile and prestigious projects all over the world across a variety of sectors so the role may involve some travel. Responsibilities:

  • To fully understand Mechanical systems design process and undertake mechanical engineering design activities relating to assigned projects.
  • To fulfil the Practice’s overall objective in leading to first class architecture and engineering on time and on budget.
  • To have thorough knowledge of, and comply with, company procedures and standards.

  Skills: Required:

  • Able to demonstrate ability to undertake the above responsibilities.
  • Legally able to work in the country in which the position is based.
  • Have 2 to 4 years of previous mechanical engineering design experience.
  • Foundational technical understanding of building mechanical engineering discipline and an appreciation of the role of the environmental engineer within the design team.
  • Developing understanding of other engineering disciplines engaged in the design of the built environment.
  • Appreciation of building design and architecture with creative and innovative mindset.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within the integrated design process environment.
  • To seek, and record evidence of, continuing professional development (CPD) in accordance with the requirements of the relevant professional Institution with objective of acquiring chartered status.
  • Ability to use engineering software including experience of using Autodesk Revit and advanced knowledge of working with Microsoft Office software to be used for calculations, reports and presentations.
  • Willing to learn new software tools such as Adobe Creative Suite to create reports and presentation material.
  • Working knowledge of core technical guidance published by ASHRAE and CIBSE.
  • Able to negotiate and communicate well in English, including both spoken and written language plus an ability to listen and to understand others.
  • Ability to understand and formulate appropriate design decisions.
  • A flexible and open attitude towards new ways of working and a proven commitment to independent, lifelong learning.
  • Demonstrate initiative in approach to own work, self-organised and motivated.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Additional languages, in particular: European mainland languages, Arabic, Mandarin.

Currently looking for a talented and motivated Senior Electrical Engineer to join their Building Services team in Teesside, North Yorkshire. You will be part of a team working on a wide variety of small and large schemes including healthcare, education, leisure, retail, commercial, and energy conservation.  Duties are varied but include the following:

  • Attending design and site meetings.
  • Managing workload.
  • Performing job manager responsibilities.
  • Producing accurate documents including specifications, calculations, condition reports, etc.

  To be successful in this role you’ll possess:

  • A degree in Building Services Engineering.
  • Professional qualification with CIBSE or MIET (or be working towards).
  • Good working knowledge of Revit, Navisworks, Clash Detection, and Amtech.
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role with strong project management skills.
  • The ability to manage a variety of projects meeting varying deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to work alongside architects and contractors to solve problems and come up with innovative solutions.

  • The ability to understand the needs of a project and manage your time effectively.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills.
  • Experience of using Solibri would be advantageous.
