  • Degree qualified, preferably to Masters level
  • Full Member of CIBSE, EI or equivalent, or working towards full membership

  • Have detailed knowledge of the design of electrical building services systems and a keen interest in passive design techniques, sustainable environmental solutions and renewable energy technologies
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in using front end design tools such as Dialux, Amtech / Electrical OM, and are fully CAD and IT literate
  • Capable of designing within a Revit environment and a desire to develop these skills
  • Successfully designed projects across a range of scales and sectors

• Senior Mechanical Engineer

The firm is independently owned by the Directors and employees, all based together in one office, supporting each other without corporate interference or distractions irrelevant to project delivery.  They can provide technical support when needed, but otherwise trust employees to independently manage their workload. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the mechanical design solutions on complex projects from initial concept through to final delivery, represent the business in front of clients and architects, and provide mentorship and guidance to more junior team members. Responsibilities:

  • Lead the mechanical design on complex and large-scale UK and International projects across a range of sectors, including commercial, residential, education, healthcare and industrial.
  • Manage the delivery of mechanical design solutions in accordance with British Standards and relevant codes of practice.
  • Produce detailed mechanical designs and specifications for projects, ensuring compliance with performance requirements and energy efficiency standards.
  • Undertake detailed calculations and simulations to validate the mechanical design solutions.
  • Attend site visits and meetings with clients, architects, and contractors.
  • Work collaboratively with other engineers and design team members to ensure project deadlines and deliverables are met.
  • Mentor junior engineers to ensure their development and provide technical guidance.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current and emerging mechanical design technologies and practices.

  Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years' UK experience in mechanical design engineering within the building services industry.
  • Ideally Chartered Engineer status.
  • Knowledge and experience of British Standards and relevant codes of practice.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a team.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Their Building Services team require a Senior Electrical Engineer to take full responsibility for the electrical services and the overall coordination of all services of a wide variety of projects. The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary design team for several clients covering a range of activities from project feasibility through to detailed design and construction support. This exciting role will involve leading teams working on demanding large-scale projects both in the UK and potentially overseas. Working closely with clients, architects and other members of the professional team you will take an active role in establishing the brief, leading the design and developing potential solutions in order to assist in delivering high quality projects in a timely and cost-effective manner.
