The firm is independently owned by the Directors and employees, all based together in one office, supporting each other without corporate interference or distractions irrelevant to project delivery.  They can provide technical support when needed but otherwise trust employees to independently manage their workload. Approximately two thirds of their turnover is derived from overseas projects, having undertaken projects in Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Cyprus, Russia, Vietnam, Germany, UAE, Angola and the Bahamas.  Their key sectors are commercial offices, mixed use developments, luxury hotels, concert halls, theatres and airports. In your role as the Mechanical Engineer, you will be expected to own, manage, and deliver electrical projects. You will be responsible for the full design from inception to commissioning and final delivery. As part of the role, you will be expected to: Responsibilities:

  •  Assist in the design and coordination of mechanical building services systems.
  • Produce detailed design drawings and specifications.
  • Assist in the selection of appropriate materials and equipment.
  • Attend site visits and liaise with contractors and clients.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the engineering team.

  Requirements:

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services.
  • Knowledge of mechanical building services design principles.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and other design software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and develop skills.

  •  Be responsible for the day-to-day technical delivery of the electrical design services for multi-disciplinary projects across a number of building sectors.
  • Lead the development of initial strategic concepts for projects ensuring solutions are appropriate for the brief and regulatory standards.
  • Interact regularly with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring a communicative, collaborative and timely approach to delivery. This is a client-facing role, so you will be attending project meetings and disseminating / translating the brief within the project team.
  • Work with the team leader to help monitor fee expenditure, resources and work delivered.
  • Mentor and support our ‘next gen’ professionals, including apprentices and graduates.

  About You: To be successful in this role you’ll need:

  • Proven experience working as an Electrical Engineer or in a closely related role, with a track record delivering on a variety of complex projects.
  • Experience of modern technical delivery processes, and use of relevant software/tools such as BIM, Revit, Electrical OM, Dialux, and Relux.
  • Demonstrable experience working with clients/contractors / architects in a design-oriented / consultant role.
  • Self-awareness, an open mind, and a spirit of generosity.
  • Experience in supporting others to develop knowledge, skills, and confidence.
