  Senior Electrical Building Services Design Engineer required to join a multi-award winning consultancy in Central London (City). They provide design and project management across some of the most complex projects within the commercial sector and work with a number of high-profile clients and brands across the UK and Europe. They are looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer with a Building Services background to join their busy team on a contract basis (outside ir35). As the Senior Electrical Engineer, you will need 5 years + consultancy design experience with extensive exposure to project delivery in the commercial fit-out and refurbishment sector. You must be fully proficient using Amtech & Dialux and should be able to demonstrate solid experience of lighting & power design in buildings. The key requirements of this role include:

Other tasks you will be involved include Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modelling, review and mark-up design plans, zone modelling, producing fire strategy documents and presenting your findings and reports to clients. You don’t need to have completed a Fire Safety or Fire Engineering degree that are currently being offered by universities such as Lancashire, Edinburgh and Ulster although if you have fantastic. More important is a couple of years practical experience delivering fire engineering and safety advice and guidance to UK clients. We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join the team. As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the electrical design solutions for a range of building services projects, from initial concept through to final delivery.  You will have the opportunity to lead and contribute to the success of their exciting and challenging projects, while working with a dynamic and innovative team that makes a positive impact on the built environment. Responsibilities:

  • Lead the electrical design on complex and large-scale projects across a range of sectors, including commercial, residential, education, healthcare and industrial.
  • Manage the delivery of electrical design solutions in accordance with British Standards and relevant codes of practice.
  • Produce detailed electrical designs and specifications for projects, ensuring compliance with performance requirements and energy efficiency standards.
  • Undertake detailed calculations and simulations to validate the electrical design solutions.
  • Attend site visits and meetings with clients, architects, and contractors.
  • Work collaboratively with other engineers and design team members to ensure project deadlines and deliverables are met.
  • Mentor junior engineers to ensure their development and provide technical guidance.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current and emerging electrical design technologies and practices.

  Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 8  years' UK experience in electrical design engineering within the building services industry.
  • ideally Chartered Engineer status.
  • Knowledge and experience of British Standards and relevant codes of practice.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Experience in using electrical design software such as Amtech, Dialux, or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a team.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
