Role: We are looking for a talented and ambitious Building Services Design Engineer to join our Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health Design Team. Working with long standing clients, you will be exposed to a depth and breadth of projects across all sectors, including commercial, retail, public sector, education, health and residential. The successful candidate will require the ambition to ensure they always deliver the highest quality of work within their expertise as well as always ensuring professionalism throughout project completion. As an Associate Engineer, you will need to be able to effectively liaise with clients and stakeholders to manage expectations whilst maintaining and building new relationships for the company. You will be the technical leader when it comes to projects you manage. You will have played an active part in the development of the more junior engineers and will manage the engineering output for each project. Working with the Director you will assist in managing financial deliverables and will play a lead in project bids.

Role You will lead the delivery of energy modelling using IES, developing robust modelling approaches, establishing clear assumptions, producing quality-checked results and providing practical recommendations that clients and design teams can act upon. You will take day-to-day technical ownership of IES-led project delivery, with a particular focus on TM52/TM59 overheating assessments and TM54 operational energy modelling. You will have the support of the wider team while being trusted to drive your own work forward. While energy modelling will be the core focus of the position, you will also contribute to other sustainability workstreams as projects require, applying the same technical rigour and ownership across a broader range of client requirements. Project values have varied from £4million to £200million in terms of construction value. The company has won several national and international awards for some of its projects and has established itself as a leader in low carbon and renewable technologies and low energy buildings. The type of work is varied; for instance, the company has written the technical guidance for Sport England wet and dry sports centres and partnered with a number of local authorities and main contractors. The design work varies from developing concept designs to Stage 3 for planning purposes to fully detailed design, contract and construction drawings. The candidate will report directly to the Director. The candidate joins the company in the midst of exciting times, with a strong order book and growth opportunities. The candidate will be given the opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills and ultimately manage their own projects, which will include managing a team of engineers, building physicist, and technicians. Job Description: The engineer will be required to deal with projects predominantly in the South East from concept/feasibility stage, through design and construction to commissioning and handover under the guidance of a director.
