  You will take a leading role in multiple projects with the design and production of information relating to electrical building services installation in a range of project types. You will represent the business on-site and at client meetings, and prepare high-quality information including technical specifications, designs, schematics, equipment schedules, and survey reports. You will deliver projects across a wide range of sectors including heritage, healthcare, education, and social housing, as well as bespoke residential developments and places of worship, mainly located across Southeast England. In order to fulfill this role, you need to have a good working knowledge of various types of electrical installations, an understanding of Building Regulations and relevant British Standards and related guidance, and a keen interest in buildings, energy, and creating high-quality working and living environments. Qualifications: • A minimum of HNC/HND in Building Services Engineering or a directly related discipline. • A minimum of five years post-qualification experience. • Current registration with the Engineering Council UK. • Current membership of at least one relevant professional institution. • Current full UK driving license and the use of a vehicle for business. Competence: • Preparing design drawings using AutoCAD 2022. • Undertaking electrical design calculations using Trimble Pro-design. • Carrying out lighting design calculations using Relux or Dialux. • The use of Microsoft 365, including SharePoint, OneDrive, Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams. Experience: • Ability to assist our clients with the development of a brief defining design requirements and follow up with managing client expectations from inception to completion of each project. • Sufficient experience to quickly develop realistic conceptual designs, schematics, and detailed designs in order to assist fellow professionals with shaping the building design at an early stage. • You should be able to produce substantiation calculations to demonstrate that designs will perform as required. • A good understanding of the practicalities of the installation of electrical building services systems. • An awareness and understanding of the purpose and principles of a range of mechanical building services systems. • Proactive approach to communicating with other technicians and engineers within the practice to produce carefully considered and well-coordinated engineering design drawings and written specifications. • On a daily basis, provide support and advice to staff, deal with client-related issues and provide professional services as required. • Thorough understanding and working knowledge of current legislative requirements and design standard standards influencing electrical services design, especially BS7671 and related guidance. • Actively participate in our QA process through peer review and checking the work undertaken by junior members of the team, providing constructive feedback on improving the quality of their work and supporting them to broaden their knowledge and develop their understanding. • Understanding and awareness of RIBA Plan of Work. • Manage projects against time, cost, and quality requirements. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the mechanical design solutions on complex projects from initial concept through to final delivery, represent the business in front of clients and architects, and provide mentorship and guidance to more junior team members. Responsibilities:

  • Lead the mechanical design on complex and large-scale UK and International projects across a range of sectors, including commercial, residential, education, healthcare and industrial.
  • Manage the delivery of mechanical design solutions in accordance with British Standards and relevant codes of practice.
  • Produce detailed mechanical designs and specifications for projects, ensuring compliance with performance requirements and energy efficiency standards.

  Summary: We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate MEP Design Manager to be part of a dynamic multidisciplinary engineering team in London. You will be required to work autonomously or with a team to develop the successful projects through clear strategy and proactive commitment nationally and internationally. The role involves review and management of the MEP engineering disciplines and MEP delivery of large-scale projects, attending project meetings, overseeing MEP engineering activities, and ensuring design completeness and quality compliance. The role will provide crucial technical support, contribute to project reporting, and represent the company professionally. Strong knowledge of international industry standards and regulations, experience in MEP design capacities, and a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion are essential qualities. Role:

  • Good Knowledge of MEPF systems, relevant legislations, standards, regulations, guides and good practise nationally and internationally as appropriate, having hands-on engineering design experience from any one of the MEP disciplines; including mechanical, public health or electrical engineering.
  • Project and design management, team leadership and project delivery.
  • To attend, and chair where appropriate and working with project lead, meetings with the Client, the sub consultants, specialist contractors, internal design team and other team members where required.
  • Manage meeting minutes and actions, manage the design process and coordinate MEP engineering activities relating to the project including the management of engineering subconsultants.
  • Ensure efficient project, team and external partners/sub-consultant management, pre and post contract.

  • Undertake project scope and contract reviews to ensure quality and deliver against contractual obligations.

  Skills:

  • 7 years experience as either a mechanical, electrical or public health engineer and/or Design Manager / Technical Services Manager on significant projects
  • Qualified as a Chartered Engineer and degree in engineering.
  • MCIBSE/MIET/MIEE/IMechE Professional Membership Registration.
  • Experience working with a design consultancy and/or contractor in an MEP capacity, with track record of successful project delivery
  • Proven experience in working alongside multidiscipline design teams with a solid understanding and empathy of the design process.
  • Experience of working in a team environment is essential.
  • Deep understanding and knowledge of design and construction processes.
  • Good technical understanding of MEP engineering disciplines and the role of the building services engineer within the design team.
  • Good understanding of other disciplines and specialisms engaged in the design of the built environment.
  • Able to demonstrate ability to undertake the above responsibilities.
  • Good understanding of international Building Regulations and industry standard design reference material
  • Ability to use initiative in response to demands of project.
