The Role: The Cambridge office was established to provide a local presence on projects. As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting and delivering designs for a range of project types and sizes.  You will work within a multidisciplinary team of engineers and support staff delivering a consistent high-quality service for clients, ensuring that repeat and new business opportunities are developed, and profitability is achieved. In this key and varied role, you can expect to:

  • Provide detailed, coordinated and cost-efficient mechanical design advice to our varied client list.
  • Tailor a comprehensive service of specifications, calculations and reports.
  • Design mechanical engineering systems at the highest level using the latest software design packages.
  • Take responsibility for solid technical delivery in your work either alone or as part of a team.
  • Look at new ways of working and taking time out for innovation and research ensuring we keep abreast of our competitors.
  • Produce calculations, reports and specifications with good written communication skills.
  • Attend DTMs/client meetings and site inspections.
  • Work with minimal supervision and you may be responsible for your own individual projects. In this role the ability to react efficiently to multiple tasks and tight deadlines is essential.

  About You: To be successful in this role you’ll need:

  • Proven experience working as a Mechanical Engineer or closely related role, with a track record delivering on a variety of complex projects.
  • Understanding of all mechanical services including heating, ventilation and air conditioning.
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary environment, with excellent communication skills with both internal and external clients, and a team-based work approach.
  • Use of relevant software/tools such as Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Self-awareness, an open mind, and a spirit of generosity.
  • Conversant with relevant British Standards.
  • Consultancy experience.

With the assistance of other engineers within the team the Electrical Engineer will be required to take on the technical design and integration of the electrical systems for new and existing projects. Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with designing and supporting the Senior Electrical Engineer to manage individual projects, resolving technical matters, and liaison with clients as and when required.
  • Liaising and developing the relationship with existing clients of the Company also endeavoring to secure new sources of work. You will receive training and guidance in these areas of marketing the Company.
  • Attending project meetings with clients and internal meetings, to discuss progress and policies.
  • Carry out site surveys for Condition and Feasibility Reports.
  • Writing and producing specifications and Tender packages.

  Qualifications and Skills:

  • Preferably a degree in Building Services Engineering.
  • 2-3 years experience in a related Engineering field.
  • Proficient in the use of Office 365, Amtech (Trimble), and Dialux.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, BIM, and Revit.
  • A conscientious and focused outlook towards your profession.
  • The ability to think innovatively and efficiently in solving engineering and commercial problems.
  • Highly motivated with a strong aptitude to learn and develop skills.

  An independent specialist MEP engineering consultancy established in 2005.   Join a dynamic team of c30 experienced engineers and designers providing innovative and sustainable solutions for a range of projects across various sectors, in the UK and Internationally. The firm is independently owned by the Directors and employees, all based together in one office, supporting each other without corporate interference or distractions irrelevant to project delivery.  They can provide technical support when needed but otherwise trust employees to independently manage their workload. Approximately two thirds of their turnover is derived from overseas projects, having undertaken projects in Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Cyprus, Russia, Vietnam, Germany, UAE, Angola and the Bahamas.  Their key sectors are commercial offices, mixed use developments, luxury hotels, concert halls, theatres and airports. In your role as the Mechanical Engineer, you will be expected to own, manage, and deliver electrical projects. You will be responsible for the full design from inception to commissioning and final delivery. As part of the role, you will be expected to: Responsibilities:
