  One of London’s leading M&E Design consultancies needs assistance from an IES Thermal Modeller on a contract remote working assignment. The role will be primarily to undertake modelling work in IES to attain compliance with; Part L, TM59, TM52 and BREEAM. Thermal Bridging Measurements for SAP and working as a member of the Sustainability Team to deliver planning submissions, design work for compliance and to assist with ventilation design. Key Deliverables 

  • Working with the team and engineers to gain a comprehensive brief in order to undertake modelling work.
  • Working with the team to provide design solutions to suit the client and project team's requirements.

   Key Responsibilities 

  • Working as part of the Sustainability team and taking direction in order to deliver projects.
  • Undertaking geometry and system inputs for a range of developments in order to generate IES models
  • Assessing compliance against Part L of the Building Regulations, TM52 and TM59 Overheating criteria.
  • Following the clear procedures and guidelines in order to generate the models and supporting documentation.
  • Undertaking work on IES, Microsoft Office and other approved software

  Are you an ambitious and talented MEP CAD Technician looking for a new opportunity based in Southwest London? We are seeking an experienced MEP CAD technician for a leading multi-disciplinary construction consultancy based in Southwest London to work on some very exciting projects across central and southern England. This role is to produce accurate Mechanical and Electrical Designs drawings and coordinate the design with the MEP teams. Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD and other relevant software.
  • To ensure all MEP CAD drawing work is fully coordinated, avoiding any clashes, and accurately integrated within the MEP design.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other team members to produce accurate and effective designs.
  • Ensure all work is completed to high quality standards and within project timelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of all drawings and related documentation.
  • To ensure accurate referencing of drawings including updating revision status and ensure all drawing issues are accompanied with a drawing issue register.

  Qualifications and Skills:

  • Relevant qualification in CAD or engineering.
  • Experience in the use of MEP AutoCAD and other relevant software.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate work.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Experience in drafting all typical MEP systems, i.e. HVAC, LTHW, BCWS, LV distribution, life safety systems, M&E Plant rooms etc.

• Intermediate Electrical Engineer

It is an award-winning company that is large enough to provide stability and opportunity, but small enough to recognise its people as individuals. They currently seek an intermediate electrical design engineer with building services experience to join the existing MEP team that provides engineering support to a number of Blue-Chip International Brands. Experience within the commercial/industrial, retail, residential, and education sectors are essential.  Experience in automotive and clean/dry rooms is desirable. The successful candidate will be responsible, under the leadership of the Associate Director/Senior Engineer, for the internal day-to-day management of small to medium-scale projects and individual engineering task(s) for numerous schemes for client’s cross sector. This will include the creation, development of, and finalising engineering design solutions for electrical services, working with other team members and project teams together with direct liaison with the client and other design team professionals. The role will involve: 

  • Complete survey work and site inspections.
  • Undertake design calculations using various methods, from hand calculations to software-based modelling.
  • Prepare drawn information.
  • Write technical specifications.
  • Write technical reports.
  • Exhibit active project risk management.
  • Peer review and check design information prepared by others.
  • Manage a project-specific team of engineers.
  • Manage their own workload to meet defined targets and deadlines.
  • Allocate and manage project-specific workload of Graduates, Project Engineers, and Admin staff.
  • Manage commercial aspects of projects they are working on including responsibility for the management of project income and costs.
  • Manage client relationships on specific projects.

  In order to be considered for this role you will have:

  • Minimum 3 years of building services consultancy design experience.
  • A degree qualification - Electrical or building services (Chartered or working towards). An HNC or HND with suitable design experience will also be considered.
  • Client interaction skills.
  • Software design ideally including Microsoft Office, Amtech, Dialux and Autodesk Revit MEP.
  • Knowledge of British standards, building regulations documents, etc.
  • Professional membership (CIBSE, IET, IMechE).
