  The Client: Multi-disciplinary Building Services consultant founded in 1997 offering the full range of MEP services nationwide from their 4 UK offices.  Senior staff drive projects from feasibility through to delivery across a diverse range of sectors from data centres and retail outlets, to care homes, schools and offices. The Role: Providing design and technical advice on projects for the respective discipline. Provide a professional and technical consulting and design service to the client encompassing of, but not limited to, site surveys, meetings, feasibility studies, due diligence, design, technical reports and specifications, commissioning, and defects inspections. Assist with multiple projects in a co-ordinated manner, meeting project deadlines and cost requirements. Work under the clear direction of others and interpret the needs of a project where applicable, take a discipline lead role on smaller projects as required.

  • Work in co-ordination with all other design team members, internal and external and provide excellent client care and reporting throughout the whole project life cycle.
  • Understand the project appointment and scope of work following a briefing and be aware of any limitations of the duties on different projects.
  • Have an understanding of project costs and the impact of designs and recommendations on the overall budget for the scheme and monitor time against these costs.
  • Take ownership of your workload to meet agreed timescales and deliverables.
  • Attend meetings as required to represent the discipline and be able to convey other disciplines on behalf of the Company.
  • Communicate proactively and professionally with internal and external project teams and clients when required, attending meetings in a professional manner.
  • Arrange and carry out site surveys as required and prepare the appropriate reports.
  • Demonstrate and deliver acceptable technical and report writing skills.

  • Understand project risks and produce combined MEP Residual Risk Reports in accordance with the CDM regulations with input from other disciplines and team members as required.
  • Promote sustainability and energy efficiency within designs and recommendation and discuss the appropriate systems to implement with the senior team members.
  • Carry out and report on defects inspections, snagging and input into the witnessing of commissioning.
  • Check work for compliance with good practice and the project brief and raise any concerns or potential variations with a senior member of the team.
  • Comment on the as-fitted drawings and O&M documents.
  • Provide excellent client care and assist in opportunities for new and repeat appointments and opportunities, support business development and continuous improvement.

  This is an opportunity for an experienced Revit Coordinator to join a privately owned, award-winning building services consultancy established in 1987 located in Camden, London. They have experienced steady growth by providing first class project delivery and now consist of a team of 50 multi-disciplinary Building Services and Sustainability Engineers. Successful applicants will be responsible for 3D CAD drawings for all stages of design and delivery of projects for mechanical, public health and electrical disciplines on mixed use, and residential projects. The role will involve developing 3D BIM using REVIT MEP and implementing 3D coordination. The role will be integral for development of 3D BIM usage in a growing market. To be considered for this role applicants will have:

  • REVIT experience in residential building projects.
  • Using Revit MEP to create complex 3D building systems and geometries for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire alarm, IT, containment and fire protection systems.
  • Working from Engineer's mark-up's and sketches under minimum supervision to produce MEP drawings in Revit MEP and CAD as appropriate to each project.
  • Proven hands-on Experience of Autodesk Building Design Suite, which includes Revit
  • Practical knowledge of 3D BIM/REVIT
  • Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD 2D
  • 2-3 Years minimum experience within a similar environment.

  Opportunity:  As a Public Health Engineer, you will work within various market sectors, with a focus of high performing buildings such as laboratories and data centres. Your contribution will be expected in all phases of the project including feasibility, design, execution, and in-use. You will be expected to handle multiple projects concurrently. Reporting directly to the Directors of these sectors, you will be responsible for designing PH Services across every stage of the project lifecycle, from the initial brief through to design, commissioning, and final sign off. You will participate in design teams to provide innovative engineering solutions. As a design team member, you will hold regular meetings to inform and advise clients. This will require excellent interpersonal and conversational skills, making the complex simple. Keeping up with new developments in your field of expertise is a must for this role. If there is insufficient knowledge or new developments arise, it is expected that you will gain knowledge by research, contacts with suppliers, etc. As an international firm, our teams and clients are based in the UK and around the world in numerous other locations. Your role will see you providing Public Health systems design and consultancy within the UK engineering team, and to UK-based clients, but also collaborating as part of the firm-wide consultancy team working with international clients on exciting overseas projects. This is a full-time hybrid role (3 days working from the office, 2 days from home).   Responsibilities: Able to produce designs, drawings, schematics, diagrams, project survey, design reports and specifications and risk assessments for:

    Requirements:

  • Proven experience working in a Public Health Engineering position for 3+ years (essential), preferably within the construction/design sector.

  • Experience in the commissioning of the services and problem-solving of installed systems ensuring full operation and function prior to handover.

  • UK design experience necessary with knowledge of CIBSE, IEC, BS, ISO and EN Standards Familiarity with UK & EU regulations.

  • Knowledge of the MS Office suite, particularly Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Bluebeam/Revu and Excel. Experience with Revit would be desirable but is not essential.

  • Excellent organisation skills, comfortable juggling multiple projects and priorities in a busy and dynamic environment.

  • Ability to work to tight deadlines while under pressure.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to present complex information and clearly articulate business requests all levels of the business.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Proficiency in any additional language(s) would be desirable but is not essential.

  Desirable:

  • Understanding and selection of Effluent Treatment Plants for Pharmaceutical and Biosafety Containment Laboratories.

  • Specialist water systems design: Reverse Osmosis systems, Water for Injection, Purified Water.

  • Project team Lead experience

  • CIBSE Chartered Engineer qualification would be desirable but is not essential.
