  Role: This is an opportunity for a Graduate Electrical Engineer with a leading International multi-disciplinary design consultancy in Central London.  They are one of the UKs Top Employers for 5 years in a row according to Top Employer Institute.  Their multi-disciplined team includes MEP (30 strong), Environmental Design & Sustainability, VT, and Architectural Design Lighting.  They are involved in high profile and prestigious projects all over the world across a variety of sectors so the role may involve some travel. Responsibilities:

  • To understand the design project.
  • To prepare, and develop under the guidance of a project leader, calculations, analysis, drawings, diagrams, models and other documents relating to the design.
  • To assist where required in the co-ordination of the internal design team.
  • To take responsibility, where required by the project leader, for specific areas of the design and project development.
  • To liaise, where appropriate, with members of the external design team and other associated organisations or companies.
  • To seek, and record evidence of, continuing professional development (CPD) in accordance with the requirements of the relevant professional Institution.
  • To contribute, or otherwise assist, as required by the Project Leader or Senior Partner, or nominated Engineer.
  • To take responsibility in project document control and filing as required by the project leader.

  • Thorough knowledge of and compliance with procedures and standards.

  Qualities and Skills: Essential:

  • Technical engineering skills with the relevant university qualifications.
  • Ability to understand and formulate design decisions and present for discussion.
  • Ability to use a variety of media in the development and documentation of a design project
  • Advanced knowledge of working with Microsoft Office software to be used for calculations, reports and presentations.
  • Working knowledge of core technical guidance of the IET Wiring Regulations; BS 7671 and CIBSE supporting documents relevant to the position.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – articulate and diplomatic manner.
  • Able to manage sensitive and sometimes confidential information.
  • Self motivated and able to take responsibility.

They provide high-quality comprehensive Mechanical, Electrical, Public Health, and Environmental engineering solutions to a broad range of projects. They include large new build, renovations, and fit-outs to bespoke environmental designs that result in more efficient buildings in all sectors including commercial, education, hotels, industrial, leisure and entertainment, mixed-use, residential schemes, and shopping centres. They are looking to add a Junior Electrical Design Engineer to join their busy team in London. Responsibilities include:

  • Electrical services design including but not limited to LV design including cable sizing, lighting, lighting controls, emergency lighting, fire alarms, and security systems.
  • Preparation and development of concept, feasibility, and detailed design proposals, which include specifications, drawings, and calculations.
  • Ability to use DIALux lighting and Amtech electrical software.
  • Fully proficient in AutoCAD 2D with either some knowledge of the use of Revit or the desire to learn.
  • MS Office skills, particularly Word and Excel.
