The company currently supports the management of over 1 million m2 of predominantly commercial real estate assets and employs more than 20 staff. Their head office is in Shrewsbury, Shropshire and they adopt a hybrid working environment where employees work flexibly, travelling across the UK to visit buildings. Role: As part of their continuing growth strategy, they are looking to appoint a Senior Building Services Design Engineer, with a strong mechanical bias, to help support their comprehensive range of services for building owners. The role will include the responsibility to deliver the building services designs for principally refurbishment projects, with an emphasis on net zero carbon transition. Additionally, it offers the opportunity to innovate on existing industry processes and help shape our own unique software to support this. With a bias towards mechanical engineering, the successful applicant will have experience in the design of HVAC systems alongside a good general working knowledge of building services within the commercial property sector. They are ideally looking for candidates who are members of either the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE), Institution of Mechanical Engineering (IMechE) or Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). ROLE OVERVIEW: The Senior Mechanical Engineer will excel in engineering design and be comfortable leading projects from inception to completion, working with minimal supervision. They will also assist in planning and managing an appropriate resource to deliver projects. They will prepare conceptual designs of HVAC systems, pipe work systems, plant sizing and selection and calculations and assist with the preparation of the client brief. The role also requires that they are confident giving technical presentations to the professional team as well as managing site coordination meetings with contractors. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will work across multiple projects at any one time, and will prioritise work to ensure timely delivery.
