An excellent opportunity has arisen for an established Senior Sustainability Consultant. My client is a leading privately owned multi-award winning Energy Consultancy and Building Services Design Consultancy in Berkshire. Set up nearly 10 years ago they provide energy consultancy and low carbon building design solution services offering a combined solution in Energy Compliance, Sustainable Building Design, Energy efficient products and energy procurement solutions. My client is an award company with 25 industry awards and recognised by Goldman Sachs as one of the leading SME fast growth companies of 2015.The reason for the vacancy is due to rapid expansion and ambitious growth plans. They require a dynamic and ambitious Senior Acoustic Engineer to join their expanding team.
The ideal candidate will be someone with a passion for sustainability and the desire to learn. You will have a good grounding in sustainable building design and energy policy/legislation to drive the company's growth plans. They offer the potential for you to develop your career further within this interesting and unique organisation.
The key responsibilities include leading the sustainability team and associated services proposition. You will also use your experience to mentor the junior Sustainability engineers in the team. You will undertake BREEAM assessments as an accredited BREEAM assessor, carry out energy statements for planning applications and lead responses to clients/local authorities. You will also support and undertake energy audits in line with company processes and manage and coordinate preferred supplier schedules/sustainability tracker documents and assist with proposals. You will also produce accurate SAP/SBEM calculations.
In order to be successful for this role my client is looking for a Degree qualified engineer with at least 5 years' experience. You must be BREEAM accredited with a good understanding of renewable technologies and experience and confidence using Autocad, SAP, SBEM. You will be dealing with clients and be the go to within your team and so good presentation and communication skills are essential. Awareness of BREEAM and part L requirements are also very important. My client is very ambitious and so they like employees to also have the drive and ambition to progress. Being chartered or on your way would also be a huge advantage.
- Experience in the education, mixed use, leisure and prime residential sectors.
- Knowledge and/or experience of integration of renewable technologies, district heating solutions
- IES or equivalent for daylight planning reports and thermal modelling reports
- Accredited SAP/SBEM/DEC assessor
- Knowledge of LEED/CSH/Ecohomes/CDM
- Understanding of energy certification and TM44
