They are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join the team. As a Senior/Principal Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the Electrical design solutions for a range of building services projects, from initial concept through to final delivery.   • Produce detailed electrical designs and specifications for projects, ensuring compliance with performance requirements and energy efficiency standards.
  • Undertake detailed calculations and simulations to validate the electrical design solutions.
  • Attend site visits and meetings with clients, architects, and contractors.
  • Work collaboratively with other engineers and design team members to ensure project deadlines and deliverables are met.
  • Mentor junior engineers to ensure their development and provide technical guidance.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current and emerging electrical design technologies and practices.

  Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 6  years' UK experience in electrical design engineering within the building services industry.
  • ideally Chartered Engineer status.
  • Knowledge and experience of British Standards and relevant codes of practice.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Experience in using electrical design software such as Amtech, Dialux, or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a team.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

The firm is independently owned by the Directors and employees, all based together in one office, supporting each other without corporate interference or distractions irrelevant to project delivery.  They can provide technical support when needed but otherwise trust employees to independently manage their workload. Approximately two thirds of their turnover is derived from overseas projects, having undertaken projects in Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Cyprus, Russia, Vietnam, Germany, UAE, Angola and the Bahamas.  Their key sectors are commercial offices, hotels, and residential incorporating very high end residential developments. Responsibilities:

• Associate Director

They are an innovative and forward-thinking company involved in unique software development and research partnerships with local universities. Role: Seeking to recruit an ambitious and talented individual to help the directors lead on the next phase of rapid growth as a company. The Associate Director will take an active role in developing the business and services, managing and prioritising client requirements as well as lead and develop a small but rapidly growing team of digital engineering and sustainability consultants. A key remit of the job will be to ensure that all IES modelling outputs are accurate and to the highest standards. The successful applicant will also be able to balance the legislative requirements with the innovative thinking required to meet and beat the net zero carbon challenge in existing buildings. The role will also require experience and knowledge of ApacheHVAC, an understanding of how buildings really operate and experience in delivering BREEAM credits. They are a delivery partner for NABERS UK and the successful applicant will take a key role in shaping their service offer in relation to this new rating system and how it interacts with EPC requirements. Their conceptual designs are highly likely to be implemented in the assets they support which makes this a unique and exciting opportunity to see projects through from concept to full operation and to play a key role in the drive to achieve real net-zero. Responsibilities:

  • Use their initiative with minimal supervision
  • Accurately interpret client instructions and be confident in multi-stakeholder discussions
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a proactive and coordinated manner ensuring deadlines are met and any crises are dealt with calmly and decisively.
  • Supervise and manage a high-performing team; helping them develop their skills.
  • Identify and lead on business development opportunities.
  • Issue clear and concise client-facing reports and technical documents.

  Essential skills:

  • A degree in engineering or the sciences (BEng or BSc)
  • Three years' experience in IES VE
  • CIBSE Level 5 (EPC/BRUKL) accreditation
  • Awareness of NABERS UK
  • Experience of producing some or all of the following:

  1. BREEAM technical credits (ENE, HEA04 etc.)
  2. BRUKL reports and energy strategies
  3. NZC/Energy audits
  4. Life Cycle Cost (LCC) planning
  5. Life Cycle Assessment calculations

  Desirable skills:

  • MCIBSE
  • MEI Chartered Energy Manager
  • CEng or IEng
  • IES VE Apache HVAC
  • ESOS Lead Assessor
  • BREEAM Assessor
