    Senior REVIT MEP Coordinator required to join a highly commended international multi-disciplinary consultancy in London.

  • Intermediate Mechanical Engineer

    Hertfordshire

    £35000 - £40000 per annum

    I am currently seeking an intermediate level mechanical design engineer with the ability to run their own projects, carrying out full detailed design for a practice based in Hertfordshire.

    The Practice has participated in many projects over 60 years involving the renovation of Historic Buildings, Pharmaceutical Buildings, Healthcare Facilities, Residential Developments and Educational Buildings including the world famous Colleges of Cambridge, and the University of Cambridge.

    Responsibilities:
     Capable of managing a portfolio of projects including works at both planning and detailed design stages.
     Communicate clearly and effectively with the internal management of the company from Graduate to Director Level.
     Externally you will be required to liaise with Clients, Architects and contractors.
     Working within a team of engineers and to ensure effective delivery of projects.
     Completion of various calculations for system sizing.
     Liaising directly with Clients, Architects and Contractors on projects to ensure we meet client needs.

     Building Services Design from Conceptualisation through to Practical Completion.

    Required Qualifications/Experience:
     Building Services Consultancy Experience.

They require an electrical engineer with 3+ years consultancy experience to work on offices, data centres, residential apartments, schools, universities, colleges and hotels etc with an emphasis on sustainable, low carbon design.

    To be considered for this role you should have experience across a range of sectors with good computer and communication skills. Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Amtech and Dialux, is essential, TAS, Cymap, AutoCAD and Revit software packages would be an advantage.

    Experience/qualifications:
     Working towards Chartered status or the desire to do so (support offered)
     BEng or BSc (industry related)

    As the Senior Engineer, you will need more than 5 years' experience of design within the commercial arena. You will need good technical skills and they must be fully proficient experience of Hevacomp & IES. They will need a good working knowledge of building (HVAC) design.

    Responsibilities;

    You will focus on successful project delivery whilst managing a number of concurrent projects. The job holder will be required to attend design, programme and site meetings, and mentor junior engineers and apprentices.

They are responsible for major fit-out, new-build, and refurbishment projects, many of which have been high profile developments, in several sectors.

    Specific Duties:

     oversee intermediate/junior staff
     mentor staff undertaking further education
     ensure design procedures are followed and design files maintained.
     carry out mechanical design work
     review mechanical designs
     act as Project Leader when designated
     ensure staff work to meet time and quality targets
     lead and liaise with CAD department on M&E drawing production and workload.

    Liaise with Directors and assist with:


     fee proposals
     resource requirements
     staff issues that require director input
     need for external consultants
     monthly review of staff timesheets/project costs
     monitor and co-ordinate holidays
     produce basic fee payment schedules
     encourage team working and development

    To qualify for this role you must possess:

     extensive UK experience in the commercial sector of building services (MEP) - hotels, offices, high-end residential etc. (survey and design).
     degree qualified - industry related (building service/mechanical engineering/environmental engineering).
     experience in the management of junior/intermediate staff.
     an outgoing personality, capable of running projects with enthusiasm.
     familiarity with the London construction market and the hotel/hospitality industry.
